THE PATH - Part 2

AUGUST 3, 2011

We ended yesterday's blog on the thought that our lifestyle can be the most powerful message ever expressed to help transform others. One of my favorite Bible heroes is Samson, he was not a prophet but his life was very prophetic. Judges Chapter 13 starts off like many other places in this Book, "the children of Israel did evil again in the sight of the LORD." The reason why this seems so redundant is because they were spiritually immature (children of Israel). Keep in mind that this was during the period when there were no kings over Israel, and every man did what was right in his own eyes. This was a time of transition. In the Book of Joshua they won the victory, but before the path of kingship authority is revealed, there must be judgment/correction.

Every man doing what is right in his own eyes can be looked at 2 ways. (1) They were a bunch of lawless people that did whatever they pleased. (2) They were maturing to a level where they were becoming a law to themselves, and out of their perception of righteousness they made choices. Nevertheless, it was a time of great transition.

In this blog, we want to observe some of the hidden clues leading up to the birth of Samson. Verse 2 is exploding with information that sets the stage for a mighty deliverer. "And there was a certain man of Zorah, of the family of Dan, whose name was Manoah; and his wife was barren, and bore not."

Zorah means to scourge, oppress; hornets. Dan means judgment, correction. Manoah means to be at rest. Through these names we will find Manoah's progression to enlightenment that produces the Samson. Just observing the definitions of the names we already see that the Path to further Enlightenment can only be achieved through challenges before entering into a rest. The crooked ways must be made straight and we must allow space for correction.

DAN - SCORPIO

On a more esoteric level, we are given clues about specific astrological signs which will help us to understand more clearly the life of Samson and the powerful unspoken messages. In the definition of the name Zorah is hidden the clue to the constellation of Scorpio. It is the only constellation that has the sting of death, as the hornets have stings. The family of Dan further confirms that, the Zodiac sign of Scorpio was assigned to the tribe of Dan. “Dan shall be a serpent in the way that bites the horse heel and causes his rider to fall backward”. Genesis 49:17 Traditionally, Scorpio has 3- decans or sub-constellations called; Serpens, Ophiuchus, and Hercules.

Looking on a map of the heavens between Sagittarius and Scorpio there is an open space, the center of the Milky Way Galaxy or the Great Rift. On some of the ancients map there was an Eagle or Phoenix Bird there. That symbol was removed long ago from the maps to conceal the identity of the 13th Zodiac sign Ophiuchus. The Scripture speaks of the Cherubim having 4-faces, these are the 4- Fixed Signs positioned 90 degrees apart forming the Cosmic Cross. Face of a Man=Aquarius, Face of and Ox=Taurus, Face of a Lion=Leo, Face of an Eagle=Scorpio

SUN LIGHT

This is the progression of overcoming your fears and the sting of death (carnal mind), which is what we refer to as sin (Zorah). "To be carnally minded is death". However, the progression beyond carnality can only take place as one allows judgment (Dan) unto life to come to your house. Judgment unto life is not condemnation. It is the God orchestrated circumstances that will produce His life and character in us. For judgment must begin at the house of God. Judgment only means becoming responsible, making proper decisions as the lower self-life dies. Then, the Scorpion nature is transformed into a beautiful Eagle/Phoenix to soar above the principalities into a place of rest (Manoah).

Manoah had progressed to a place of rest/peace within himself as many Believers, but his wife (Soul=mind, will, emotions, intellect, imagination) had not produced the enLIGHTenment and deliverance needed to go to the next level. In verse 3, the messenger or message was spoken to the wife (Soul=min, will, emotion, intellect, imagination) acknowledging her barrenness, but also giving her a promise. The Spirit of God is always speaking to bring life to the non productive areas of our being. "You will bear a son." In verse 24, Samson is born, his name means SunLIGHT, brilliant rays. The process on the Path of Initiation to give birth to Light will always be met with darkness first.

Samson is born in the 13th chapter and becomes the 13th Judge over Israel. He does not have a message; rather his life becomes a message. 12 male judges and 1 female (Deborah, means a bee) ruled Israel. Jacob had 13 children, which eventually formed the nation of Israel, 12 sons and 1 daughter (Dinah, mean God has judged). When the Hebrew Calendar is reset every several years based on astrology and agriculture there is a 13th month added. Is all this coincidence?

The shadow side of the number 13 denotes Rebellion, we also see this in Revelation 13, the rebellious beast nature rising out of mass human consciousness. In Christian terminology, Samson at some points in his life represents the Laodicean Church in rebellion, out of balance. On a much deeper level the life of Samson reveals your Path of Initiation. The positive side of the number 13 denotes Mastery. This is one that has overcome the challenges and mastered their own flesh. As we look further in this study we will see how Samson did this.
