Day Of Atonement – Yom Kippur

Day Of Atonement – Yom Kippur

Yom Kippur the 10th day of Tishrei, the 7th month on the Biblical Calendar. This is the holiest day of the year on the sacred Calendar, from sunset to sunset. It is called the Day of Atonement, The Fast and Yom Kippur. This is the 6th Feast given to us in the Torah.

We want to share some thoughts on the symbols given to the ancient people 3500 years ago and what they mean to us today. The rehearsals and rituals of these ancient set times were foreshadowing the reality of our present time. As we have studied last month during the month Elul, we found out Elul is the month of preparation and purification leading up to this one day; the Day of Atonement. There were 10 days of repenting leading up to this day when the Verdict would be given. The Israelites anxiously waited for this one day to make Atonement for their sins, if forgiven, they would get a chance to start again afresh. This day was filled with mysterious rituals, garments, manifestations and offerings that would only take place.

THE PSYCHOLOGY BEHIND DAY OF ATONEMENT

” And the LORD spoke to Moses, saying: “Also the tenth day of this seventh month shall be the Day of Atonement. It shall be a holy convocation for you; you shall afflict your souls, and offer an offering made by fire to the LORD. And you shall do no work on that same day, for it is the Day of Atonement, to make atonement for you before the LORD your God…it shall be a statute forever throughout your generations in all your dwellings. It shall be to you a sabbath of solemn rest, and you shall afflict your souls; on the ninth day of the month at evening, from evening to evening, you shall celebrate your sabbath.” Leviticus 23:26-28,32

Due to the administration of the Law, the people lived under Guilt and Condemnation about 359 days of the year based on the lunar-solar Biblical Calendar. After the day of Atonement and accepting forgiveness; the guilt cycle and sin consciousness started all over again. When the Creator gave the Law to the people through Moses, the Laws were not for them to keep in a legalistic sense, but to show them they could not keep them. This is why the first time Moses broke them, as he hurled them against the golden bull-calf. The second set of Commandments were given on the Day of Atonement, the people made the mistake of promising to do all the commandments. Moses immediately sprinkled them with blood when they said this. This was foreshadowing that the Only way the Commandments were to be fulfilled would be through the Blood of the coming Sacrificed One. Exodus 24 Furthermore, if the Law had been for them to obey by the letter of it; there would have not been a provision already made to abolish it.

The Israelites had been slaves in Africa for 210 years, they had a slave mentality. They were used to being told what to do and when. They were used to rules, punishment and strict boundaries. When the Creator spoke to them and told them how wonderful they were (a chosen generation, royal priesthood, etc) and His plan for them, they ran, they were afraid. Exodus 19 They asked for Moses to speak on God’s behalf instead of directly to them. They were not used to kind treatment and love, the psychology of these people dictated that they needed further punishment and abuse. Somehow they felt that translated into love.

“As a man thinks in his heart, so is he.”

603 laws and ordinances where given, plus the top 10 Commandments, bringing it to 613 laws. Generation after generation the people struggled for 1500 years to prove themselves righteous by trying to obey external rules. Caught up in the shadows of dead rituals, animal sacrifices, judging themselves and others unrighteous; they disqualified themselves from the kingdom of heaven, which was ever present.

The Day of Atonement was a day for the people to afflict their souls, this is the only day of the year we are actually commanded to become Depressed. Unfortunately, with all of the rules and other sacrifices for sin the people made; this depression seemed to last most of the year. The law constantly reminded them of their short-comings. Depression for a short time (1 day) can render benefits, it should be a time of making a healthy assessment of ones personal life and circumstances. Psychologically, it is a way of resetting the mental and emotion energies.

In one of the rituals, Aaron laid his hands on the live goat, as an act of transferring the sins of the people onto the goat, which became the scapegoat. The scapegoat was then chased out of the congregation over a cliff where he fell and died. The transfer or projection of guilt onto the animal after assessment was a very powerful ritual, for that one day they did not have to own the guilt. Their perceived sins were covered. The funny thing about covering something is, whatever that has been covered, can be uncovered. This is why the Day of Atonement was in fact one day. 1500 years after the Day of Atonement was instituted, the Lamb (Sacrifice) of God came in the person of Yahushua-Jesus the Messiah, to take away the sin consciousness of the world once and for all.

The Creator will only relate to us based on our level of consciousness. If one sees himself as unworthy and needing rules to accomplish unattainable feats; the God conscience within will dictate and create the frustration and struggles necessary to make you appear as a failure. Thus, the Day of Atonement was created to give the people a mental break from guilt and shame. It was also given for them to forgive themselves and realize their Oneness with the Creator. 8 PIECE HIGH PRIEST GARMENT

On this holiest of days, the high priest wore a special mystical outfit made up of 8 pieces. This was the only day he would enter into the Holy of Holies, where the Ark of the Covenant rested and the Shekinah manifested. He had to be dressed properly to commune with the Creator. This 8 piece outfit held many prophetic symbols, it was for glory and beauty. First of all, 8 is the number of New Beginning. If the high priest was successful at making atonement for the sins of himself and the people, they would indeed have a new beginning.

Here are the 8 pieces; Priestly undergarments, tunic, sash, turban, golden plate, robe, ephod, and breastplate. Exodus 28 On the metaphysical level, the 8 piece attire represents the (7) Chakras or energy centers of the body, plus the (1) just about the head which is 8. The (8th) above the head is often depicted in religious art as a halo above the head of a saint or master. (These 7 centers are medically called the Endocrine System/Glands)

The high priest turban was fitted with a golden plate at the top with the words inscribed, HOLINESS TO YHWH. This symbolizes the white light or wheel of energy just above the head from which comes the 7 colors of the rainbow or 7 chakras. All of these colors were seen in the high priest garment and breastplate of stones. Once we are fully dressed in our high priest Energetic Garment, the Holy of Holies beyond the veil will remain open to us, as we fully manifest the new creation man. This is also a type of putting on immortality, which coincides with the number 8, infinity.

Once the high priest was fully dressed in this 8 piece garment; the physical parts visible were the hands, face and his feet were only visible when he began to walk. This is highly significant, keep in mind this was worn only for one day. The Head represent Christ, the firstborn of all creation and the head of the called out ones, the New Creation. The Hands represent the ministry, those with callings to implement what the Head commands. The hand has 5 fingers, which represent the 5-fold ministry (Apostle, Prophet, Evangelistic, Pastor, Teacher), these are to perfect the body, clean and maintain the body. The hands are for serving humanity. Finally, the Feet which could only be seen when the high priest started to walk. This is the foundation of the body and carries the body in the direction the Head directs it to. The priest wore no shoes, he had to be grounded and contact with the earth realm. A priest/minister or servant can only be effective if he/she is able to relate to earthly needs, urges and struggles of those he/she is called to minister to.

The high priest was anointed with oil, not just a little oil. It was so much that it ran down his beard, even to the hem of his garment and dripped onto his feet. Wherever he walked he left a residue and trail. This was signifying, the high priest was to show the way into the Holy of Holies (realm of the supernatural). Everywhere we go, we should leave a residue of the anointing and Presence, others should be able to find their way to God by our walk (lifestyle). This lifestyle should promote love, unity and inclusion, as the metaphysical garment suggest. This garment should be worn everyday. Study Psalms 133

THE ARK OF THE COVENANT

Aside from making atonement for sins, the Day of Atonement was a day to meet with God.

“And there I will meet with thee, and I will commune with thee from above the mercy seat, from between the two cherubim which are upon the ark of the testimony, of all things which I will give thee in commandment unto the children of Israel.” Exodus 25:22

The Ark of the Covenant holds many mysteries, it was not a new concept to Moses or the Israelites.   The Egyptian priest also carried an Ark on their shoulders, hieroglyphs portray this fact. However, Moses’ Ark was  more technologically advanced, with features and apps that the Egyptians’ model did not have.  Besides having the ability to become weaponized, preserve food or modify the weather; the Ark  was a Communication Device that allowed humans to communicate with extraterrestrials (beings not from this world, ie God). Only on the 10 day of the 7th month, while the Sun was in Libra (or near the cusp of Libra), and other astronomical events in place, the Creator broadcast Himself from between the Cherubim. I don’t use the word “broadcast” lightly, much of what we call “supernatural” will be later realized as technology beyond our previous human capacity to understand.

Before entering the Holy of Holies compartment of the Tabernacle, there was a thick veil, 18 inches thick. It was so intricately woven; oxen pulling in opposite directions could not rip it apart. The Holy of Holies compartment measurements were 10x10x10 and had to be dark, pitch black dark.

Some traditions say, as Aaron the high priest stood in front of the veil with incense in one hand and blood in the other and chanted the secret sacred name Tetragrammon (72 names in one-name of God), he was supernaturally teleported from the Holy Place 10x10x20 (foreshadows current past 2000 years experience) space to the Holy of Holies (10x10x10=1000 Foreshadows Millennium – Kingdom Golden New Age) beyond the thick veil. Only Moses, the high priests and a few others over the years knew exactly how to pronounce this secret sacred 72 names in one-name of God. When pronounce or chanted, supernatural things happened.

King Jehoshaphat defeated large armies by having the choir chant the unpronouncible name, while the priest carried the Ark . Our Bibles translates this name as LORD or YHWH because it was too sacred to write or speak.

“For the LORD (YHWH = 72 names in one) is good, his mercy endures forever.” 2 Chronicles 20

The priest chanted this same phrase using the Name at the dedication of Solomon’s Temple and fire fell from heaven and Shekinah (manifested Presence) fill the place. – 2 Chronicles 5 This is why those who practice Judaism til this day refer to God as HaShem, the Name.  Although, the exact pronunciation of the 72 names in one has been lost today, I believe through the power of the Holy Spirit, speaking in tongue it can be recovered.

“For he who speaks in an unknown tongue does not speak to men but to God, for no one understands him; however, in the spirit he speaks mysteries.” 1 Corinthians 14:2

Between the two Cherubim on the Ark of the Covenant, God would appear.

“And the LORD said unto Moses, Speak unto Aaron your brother, that he come not at all times into the holy place within the veil before the mercy seat, which is upon the ark; that he die not: for I will appear in the cloud upon the mercy seat.”

Some traditions say, that inside that cloud on the Day of Atonement between the Cherubim was an Eye, the Eye of God.

On the metaphysical level, the 2 Cherubim represent the 2 hemispheres of the human brain. The Eye in the center is the Pineal Gland, the 3rd Eye, which is also the 6th Chakra. Keep in mind, the Day of Atonement is the 6th Holy day on the sacred Calendar. (The 7 Feast days are parallel to the 7 Chakras or glands of the endocrine system).

The Day of AT-ONE-MENT is about realizing that we are forgiven and realizing our oneness with the Divine. This is done in the Holy of Holies, which is the 3rd compartment of the Temple. This signifies the spirit of humans, we are body, soul, and spirit. The Temple was Outer Court (body), Holy Place (soul) and Holy of Holies (spirit),  you are the Temple. It is in this realization that the 3rd Eye becomes fully opened and direct unlimited broadcast communication is granted with and from the Divine.

ACCESS GRANTED

For 3500 years only a specific caste of priests, with a unique DNA frequency were allowed into the Holy of Holies and only once a year. Another high priest came 2000 years ago, he was of the wrong caste and tribe and that would disqualify him from the priesthood and Holy of Holies experience.   However, he carried the Original DNA Strand that held all the frequencies. His name was Yahushua (Jesus) the Christ. He was of the kingly tribe of Judah and made after the Order of Melchizedek, the immortal king-priest. While He  was on the Cross dying, something unusual happened.

It was Passover, the 1st month of the religious year on the Biblical Calendar, Nisan. He became the Passover Lamb (Sacrifice) that took away the sins of the world and reconciled ALL to Himself. He did not stop there, he transcended time and projected Himself into the 7th month, Tishrei and the 10th day of the month, fulfilling all of the law. He became the sacrificial goat and bull.

“Then Jesus cried out with a loud voice and released his spirit and died. And behold, the veil of the temple was torn in two from top to bottom; and the earth shook and the rocks were split.” Matthew 27:50-51 It Is Finished!!!!

The 18 inches thick sacred veil that limited God to only a few men from an exclusive caste was torn by the Almighty Himself from top to bottom. He opened the way into the Holiest of All, where All could find AT-ONE-MENT. The Eternal Verdict was projected into our reality 2000 years ago for All humanity that has lived or will ever live. The foreman has read the Verdict. NOT GUILTY !!  On all counts. NOT GUILTY, because we never were guilty. Let all creation know they are Forgiven, God is not angry. The way is open for all to commune with the Creator. This is the Good News! This is the Gospel of the New Testament.

“There is therefore NOW no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus (inChristed).” Romans 8:1

“Neither by the blood of goats and calves, but by his own blood he entered in once into the holy place, having obtained eternal redemption for us. For if the blood of bulls and of goats, and the ashes of an heifer sprinkling the unclean, sanctifies to the purifying of the flesh: How much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself without spot to God, purge your conscience from dead works to serve the living God?” Hebrews 9:12-14

“The law is only a shadow of the good things that are coming – not the realities themselves. For this reason it can never, by the same sacrifices repeated endlessly year after year, make perfect those who draw near to worship. Otherwise, would they not have stopped being offered? For the worshipers would have been cleansed once for all, and would no longer have felt guilty for their sins. But those sacrifices are an annual reminder of sins. It is impossible for the blood of bulls and goats to take away sins.” Hebrews 10:1-4

Turn your volume up loud. Close your eyes and experience this summon to come behind the veil and stay there. Exercise speaking in tongues of men and angels (unknown tongues):
