BIBLIOMANCY

I use different methods to enter into a devotional time. Long ago as a teenager when my conscious spiritual journey began, I had a schedule or system for each day that worked. Actually, it only worked for a short time. Somehow I could not keep to the schedule and I found myself daydreaming (which I later realized were visions), plus I was skipping all over the Bible. I must confess, to this very day I have not been able to read the Bible from Genesis to Revelation without getting seriously sidetracked; although I have read the whole Bible. (Maybe I need more discipline)? I finally allowed myself go with the flow of Spirit and allow Him to lead me into what I needed to read or meditate on.

One method I use for finding my answer for the day or a "rhema" word that the Creator is speaking to me is Bibliomancy. Bibliomancy is a form of what is called "divination" - using the Bible passages to speak to you, foretell the future or give inspiration. Divination only means to use an object to discern the mind of the Divine - God. (This is in the No Fear Zone - Perfect love drives out all fear).

Have you ever closed your eyes while holding the Bible and asked the Spirit to give you something to read? Or to give you an answer to a question? That's Bibliomancy. Of course some religious people will criticize that or argue the point/fact that it is a form of divination. (However, I am sure many of you have already experienced this in some form). Try it. Clear your mind, relax, take a few deep breaths with eyes closed while holding the Bible to your chest or in your hands. Ask the Father to give you something to read to guide you through the day or whatever. Sometimes I have had to open the Bible 3-4 times before I found what felt good or bore witness in my Spirit.

This morning I was asking the Spirit for a word for me today. This time I felt to use the date and month (5/18). So I felt to go to Genesis 5:18. "And Jared lived a hundreds and sixty-two years, and he begot Enoch." Wow! This really spoke to me because I was recently sharing with someone about the Enochian Consciousness. We will share more about this later.
