GOD PLAYS HIDE & SEEK

GOD LIKES TO PLAY HIDE & SEEK

AUGUST 20, 2013

It is Elul 14 on the Biblical Calendar. The shofar is yet sounding and calling all to Repentance and to Return to God within.

Elul is the 12th month on the Civil Calendar of the ancient Hebrews and the 6th month on the Sacred or Ecclesiastical Calendar. There are (2) New Years on the ancient encrypted Calendar. I like to think of it this way, if you happen to break your resolutions (trespass) during the first, you get to make it up for the second one. Our Father is the God of a second chance.

Elul as the 12 month, speaks of the ending of things, the sum total of all that has happened in the past 11 months. It is the time of accounting, weighing and coming into balance as we prepare for the New Year - Tishrei. Tishrei is the 7th month of the last (3) most prophetic High Feast days (Trumpets, Atonement, Sukkot). Tishrei is also the 1st month, the beginning of the most prophetic season. This is the season where the end becomes the beginning, the last becomes first. Are You Awake Yet?!

Elul as the 6th month also shows us the ending of a cycle and the version of ourselves that's been created. All that is false and egoic must be smashed by the Hammer of God. It's Hammer Time! This is done through deep soul searching, not in a religious condemning manner. We search our hearts and ask for the Holy Spirit to search our hearts because we want to be of better service to the Creator by serving our fellow-man/woman.

It is impossible for me to be the Christ that I AM, if I am yet holding on to parts of me that does not bring glory to the Father. It is impossible for me to be a totally committed minister/servant of the new covenant if I choose to hang on to bitterness, unforgiveness, anger, hurt, offense, hate and the negative emotions. Elul is the month of letting go and dragging all the skeletons out of the closet. It is about serious house cleaning. In just a few days the heavens will bear witness of this as the Sun moves into the Zodiac house of Virgo on August 23. It will depict the virgin-bride making herself ready.

Elul the 6th month means searching, exploring. This definition is revealing that man created on the 6th day is constantly searching for the rest that can be only found in the 7th day or prophetic 7th month. Through the power of the Holy Spirit that rest has been made available to us. But the Creator has designed a little game of hide and seek that we all must participate in, in order to possess what has already be given. The frustration from the 6 days of labor can be overwhelming.. with no mood for games. Keep in mind, this game is rigged in your favor...you can not lose. Just play! A joyful heart is the key to a healthy attitude. Your attitude may determine how long the game last.

I sometime play hide and seek with my boys. I know places where they will never look for me right away. I sometime move quickly behind them to my next hiding place, they feel my presence or hear a noise, but can not discern which direction I went. The best hiding places are the dark places, very dark places. Sometimes they are inches from me and don't realize it; they turn and go another way for fear of the darkness. There are times I hear the anxiety mixed with laughter as they are seeking for me. There was one time Zarius thought I had left the house, as I heard him opening the door seeking for me outside, I revealed myself. He did not realize I was so close-with great joy he shouted, "I found you, I found you."

GOD PLAYS HIDE & SEEK

Take the time to reflect, listen, be still and know the I AM God within. The seeking must become a joy. At this point your 6 day of laboring, frustration and lack merges into the 7th day of the LORD (Spirit). The searching becomes an exploration of the vast treasures and riches of the Christ Consciousness that permeates everything, everywhere at all times.

Is the Being we call God, Father, Mother, Great Spirit or Creator lost? No! However, He does like to play Hide & Seek. He hides and excitingly watches us seek. As we appear to get closer, He appears to quickly moves further away. Filled with joy as a little child, He waits for the one that will not turn away in despair, impatience or frustration. Anxiously He waits for the moment of utmost joy and satisfaction that can only be expressed when the seeker finds Him.

"Truly you are a God who hides himself, O God and Savior of Israel." Isaiah 45:15

Elul is not only about seeking, but finding Him. Besides within the heart of every person, where does God hide? Clue. He loves the dark places. "Clouds of thick darkness surround Him." Psalms 97:2 "He made darkness his covering." Psalms 18:11

The month of Elul calls you and woos you to the dark places, you will find God hiding in them. He's excitingly waiting for us to go deep enough and find Him. It could be the darkness of sickness, search deeply without fear and you will find Yahweh Rapha-your Healer. The darkness of financial hardship, He's hiding in that also. Don't fear, look deeply and you will find Yahweh Yireh (Jehovah Jireh), the LORD your Provider. The darkness of depression can be very scary and lonely, but Yahweh Shalom - The LORD your PEACE is hiding there..quieten your mind and find Him. The darkness of spiritual weakness and failure can be very discouraging...but guess what? He's there as Yahweh Tsidkenu - the LORD your righteousness. Seek Him and you will find His grace is more than enough.

Remember, games are for fun. The joy of the LORD will become your strength.
