THE PATH - Part 3

The life and story of Samson is steep in astrology as we have seen from the prior thoughts yesterday. There are many hidden clues that also point to Greek Mythology. Maybe at the end of this series we will point out a few and show that this is the same story of Hercules the strong man in Greek Mythology. Also, Samson the 13th Judge points toward Ophiuchus, the 13th Zodiac. Hercules and Ophiuchus face each other on the star map, they are basically the same.
A MAN UNDER A VOW
Samson was a man born under a vow that he did not make, or at least he wasn’t consciously aware he did. He was already called and predestined by the Creator as we are. When the Initiate becomes aware that the finger of destiny has pointed him out, life can become very complicated. There are things that others might get by with but he/she can not. He/she might be crying while everyone else is laughing, feeling all alone in a filled room and feeling empty when everyone else seem full. The initiate will seem at odds and in direct contrast with the times of his/her society and out of place.
Samson was a Nazarite, one separated unto God whether he liked it or not. He was not suppose to drink wine (partake of the deceitful pleasures of the world), cut his hair (this was a form of humiliation), or touch any dead thing (live out of the carnal mind-sin consciousness). Later in the story we find out that Samson broke every vow. This is where the Sovereignty of God comes in and overrules our actions. Samson weaknesses, wrong choices, and rebellion could not screw up God’s plan; actually it was necessary to fulfill divine purpose. The Path of Initiation is not about being so called perfect and doing everything just right. The motivation of the heart is most important.
Before we incarnated into this physical realm, we agreed to be born into the family, and lifestyles we have experienced thus far. It was and is necessary for our complete development and soul evolution. “For those whom He foreknew {of whom He was aware and loved beforehand}, He also destined from the beginning {foreordaining them} to be molded into the image of His Son {and share inwardly His likeness}, that He might become the firstborn among many brethren.” Romans 8:29 Amplified Bible
When did the Creator foreknow you if it was not before you became physical? It was from the beginning, as He told Jeremiah. God’s Spirit and your spirit came into agreement. When was it planned, discussed, and agreed on that Jesus would be the ultimate sacrifice. “The Lamb of God was slain before the foundation of the world.” It was the same with you. Job was whining and complaining about his situation, in chapter 38 God interrogates him. "WHERE WERE YOU", the eternal Voice resounds throughout human consciousness. We were all there, but don't quite remember it yet.
All our good works or even our worse screw-ups cannot mess up the Divine plan of God. He is working both His will and to do according to His good pleasure. Even our backsliding will correct us. This is not to say that we should make it a habit of stumbling. We will fulfill our destiny the easy way or the hard way; even if the Potter has to break the vessel and make it over again.
INITIATION BEGINS
“And the Spirit of the LORD began to move him at times in the camp of Dan between Zorah and Eshtaol.” Judges 13:25
The Path of Initiation begins while in the camp of Dan which means judgment or correction. Most of us started on the path with great expectations of instant positive changes in our personal world. The changes came and it seemed like our world was turned upside down. God, where are you, we cried. Dan is assigned to Scorpio. This is where the sting of death is. Scorpio controls reproduction, life and death; the base or foundation energy center of the body. The 8th Zodiac House of Scorpio represents the 8th part of the body in the Zodiac man; the genitals, reproductive organs. In the life of Samson, he seemed to have had a weakness for not keeping his pants zipped or his robe down. It was the fires of passion and sexual desires that caused most of his challenges.
On the Path of Initiation, the root or base desires and drives must be brought into divine judgment as the holy flame transmutes the lower passions of Zorah (things that would cause harm) into more purer desires. The abuse or misuse of the 8th house creative energies of Scorpio can become very destructive when the Initiate is out of balance. In the outer world we see the manifestation of this in the forms of sexual transmitted diseases, unwanted pregnancies, and sexual mis-identity.
Eshtaol means entreaty, searching, this is the asking and searching of the heart, which speaks of the constellation of Leo. Leo is the 5th Zodiac house assigned to the heart. As the Spirit moves us at times in this level of initiation, we are challenged to search the heights and depths of our experience. This searching leads us to deal with the strong issues of the heart. The physical heart muscle is the most powerful and important of all the body. The rhythm of the universe is transmitted and received through the center of our being, the heart. All of our relations are brought together there.
INVOLUTION
“And Samson went down to Timnath…” Judges 14:1
A genuine spiritual encounter will always cause the disciple to go down, or rather inward. The garment of Humility will be often worn while on the Path. The true way up is down and the way out is in, God's way are opposite to ours. {Moses had to go to the desert, David went into the wilderness, Jesus driven into the desert, Paul went to the Arabian desert}.
Timnath means allotted, that which has been given to you. Part of the work of involution is to conquer the false self that has usurped authority over your true identity. Timnath represents your flesh and soul realm that must be brought under the subjection to Spirit.
Samson saw a woman, this represents he became aware of issues yet in the soul (mind, will, emotion, intellect, imagination) realm. She was a daughter of the Philistines, which means to roll in the dust, immigrant. The soul (mind, will, emotion, intellect and imagination) has been somewhat compromised or contaminated by the Adamic (dust) nature. This is the foundation or base energy center for expression of the soulic and fleshly desires. “Arise and shake yourself from the dust.”
“Then he went down to the vineyards of Timnath, and a young lion roared against him. And the Spirit of the LORD came upon him mightily and he tore the lion as he would have torn a goat, and he had nothing in his hands.” Verses 5-6
Samson is yet going down. What is this Nazarite doing in a vineyard? He has a vow to not partake of that which comes from the vine. It is during the inward journey where the temptations and adversarial experiences take place. “The devil, your adversary goes about as a roaring lion seeking whom he may devour.” Where is this adversary lurking? Is it not the old nature or paradigm that opposes your path to enlightenment?
Samson completely mastered the lion, that which would have devoured him. This is mastery over the matters of the heart (relationships, emotions, bringing closure to old issues). Once the physical plane and fires of passion are overcome on this level, the fires transmutes into a wall of protection around the Initiate.
[This is the first level of initiation, going within dealing with the expressions of the lower self and base energies. It is absolutely necessary before one is allowed to evolve to the next level].
“After some time he returned…and saw the carcass of the lion, there was a swarm of bees and honey, he took it in his hand and went on eating.” Verses 8-9 The sweetness of the fruit of your deliverance is found in that which appears was sent to destroy you. Honey represents another stage of enlightenment and revelation on the Path.
EVOLUTION
What was this Nazarite doing touching dead things, plus, he’s unequally yoked to a Philistine. He’s breaking the law, won’t he screw up God’s plan?
On the Path of Initiation, the disciple learns to use every opposition to his advantage. The lion that roared against Samson was in Timnath (allotted portion), representing it belonged to Samson. It is very easy to blame someone else, God or the devil for things that come to intimidate, harass, make us uncomfortable and challenge us. The truth is: It’s Your Stuff. You can not master it until you own it.
You can be devoured by the circumstances of life, or you can overcome and allow them to become food for you. Honey which represents divine wisdom, and revelation knowledge is in the lion. Only the Initiate clothed in Courage will partake of it. He that has ears to hear let him hear.
Samson shares the sweetness of his victory with his father and mother, but he didn’t reveal to them the struggle, near death experience of the inward journey that produced such revelation and enlightenment. It will cost you your life (the false life). Which religious system are you the offspring of? Who are your spiritual parents? Have you evolved far enough to know what to reveal and what to hide? I am sure Samson was excited and would have loved to share in detail how he defeated the lion. Had Samson revealed how he received this honey (enlightenment), the religious thinking, imagination, intellect, and emotions of his parents (system church) would have shifted into overdrive. The sweetness and nutritional value of the honey would have been lost in their thoughts about the lion (devil).
